Speaking during the unveiling of the IEBC's post-election evaluation report for the August 9, 2022 election at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Waiguru urged the organization to carefully examine the previous election in order to inform the conduct of the following one.
The chair of the Council of Governors (CoG) said that the observation was valuable since it would aid in the adoption of required tactics.
In order to come up with strategies to be used to make the general election of 2027 successful, she observed, it is necessary to examine what succeeded, what failed, and the lessons learned.
Legal, policy, and administrative frameworks that will inform and direct the actions of IEBC in the conduct of free and fair elections were among the essential concerns and crucial areas that she emphasized as needing attention.
She continued, "Other aspects that need to be outlined include risk assessment, political parties' nominations, voter registration, voter education and information, logistical issues, electoral observations, the actual voting process, counting, tallying, dispute resolution, the announcement of results, and electoral security, among others.
