Kikuyu Council of Elders Endorse Martha Karua for Azimio Running Mate Position

The National Kikuyu Council of Elders have endorsed former Kirinyaga Governor and NARC Kenya Party leader Martha Karua for the running mate position in the Azimio coalition.

Speaking to the media, the elders said they were looking for someone who can push the interests of their community in the Azimio government.

The council expressed its confidence in the leadership of Martha Karua above all other leaders from Mt.Kenya who have shown interest in the running mate position in Azimio.

“Martha Karua is a woman who is very capable to push an agenda, she has in the past demonstrated that she is a national leaders and shown zero tolerance to corruption,” read a part of a statement from the Council.

The Azimio government is this week conducting interviews for the running mate position.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has today appeared before the panel despite having rejected the invite to be interviewed.

Kalonzo and his team has continued to maintain that Wiper will leave the Azimio coalition if their party leader is not given the running mate position.
