State Sponsored Bill In Parliament Seeking Introduction Of Two Deputy Presidential Offices

The BBI died a natural death after the courts declared it unconstitutional. The propellers of the whole process promised to revive it back once in power. Things seem to change after a bill was introduced in parliament. The most interesting about this motion is the introduction of two deputy president's posts.

This seeks to have a president who will have two principal assistants. It will be unusual as it has not been witnessed in any country. Apart from that it also pushes for two deputy prime ministers. The president will also have power to fire his deputy by approval of one third of parliament.

The creation of more posts in the executive has been termed as a way of increasing inclusivity. The country has more than forty two tribes and only two of them have been in power. This has left others feeling secluded and distant from power. Raila Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta are the master minds behind this.
