Political Hotspots, Here Are Kenyan Counties With The Highest Number Of Voters

Currently our country is in one of the most competitive political seasons. As we are only two months away from elections which will be held on 9th of August this year. One of the major factors that determine who will lead in the forthcoming presindential bid is the numbers he got in his political strongholds.

You can agree with me that votes are unevenly distributed across the country, with some counties having a total of votes that are equivalent to some other four or five counties combined. Some regions are rich in votes then other regions and are the most targeted regions by the presidential candidates.

Counties in the Mount Kenya region will still have the lion’s share of eligible voters in the next polls, making them one of the most sought-after constituents in the lead up to the 2022 elections.

Some counties could influence President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor as they account for more than half the potential voters in 2022. Below are some of the leading counties with the highest number of registered voters.

Nairobi has the highest number of voters standing at 2,505,199 up from 2,250,853 in 2017 while Kiambu comes in second at 1,293,309 from 1,180,920 voters in the last General Election.

Nakuru came third with 1,050,367 whereas Kakamega and Meru closed the top five spot with 841,139 and 780, 858 respectively. Check out the list below that shows the counties and their respective number of voters so far.
