Francis Atwoli, Secretary General of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions has broken silence about his meeting with the President William Ruto.
There were claims that his move was out of self interest, but Atwoli said that he briefed Raila Odinga before he met the President.
Speaking at a funeral in Khwisero, Atwoli explained to Raila that he needed to meet the deputy president for the sake of the workers he represents.
Atwoli said his continued support for the Azimio leader would hurt his job.
The Cotu boss says that he has decided to work with the president to give workers in the country full benefit from the government.
As leaders sitting on various international labour bodies I am obliged to brief the President on what is discussed at the forums. Atwoli said that this can only happen when he is working closely with the President.
He told mourners at the funeral that they discussed matters to do with Luhya unity and the way forward after the election.
