“But don’t give them the benefit of wanting to decide your political future. For that wait for my signal on where we should be heading to,” the president told Mt Kenya leaders.

Sources in the presidency have however informed that following the heightened political activities in President Uhuru's backyard, the Head of State is on a mission to steady the ship and rally the people to support his preferred successor.

According to Uhuru's confidant, the President is expected to chair a historic meeting at the Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri County immediately after the Mashujaa Day celebrations where he will be meeting political leaders and various groups from Mt Kenya region, which has registered 13 political parties.

However, after Speaker Kenneth Lusaka was asked to give his comment on the same, he has said that he does not think that President Uhuru will speak about his succession during the Mashujaa celebrations since he is a symbol of unity and a President for all Kenyans.

The Senate Speaker has said that after the Mashujaa, that is when the President will be speaking to coll the political tension currently in the country.

Adding that the only issues the Head of State will concentrate much on in his address during the Mashujaa day are more about the basic issues affecting Kenyans naming end of curfew among others.
