The people of the larger Mount Kenya region have enjoyed being in power for the longest time because they have produced three presidents since independence. But after president Uhuru Kenyatta retires from politics, it is not clear who will take up his boots as the new regional kingpin.
The region has very able and vocal leaders among them are Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru, senator Kithure Kindiki, Parliamenterians Moses Kuria, Ndindi Nyoro, Alice Wahome, Mwangi Kiunjuri and CS's like Mutahi Kagwe and Karanja Kibicho. But it is not clear who will take the mantle of the Kikuyu leadership.
In my considered opinion I strongly believe that Moses Kuria will be the new kingpin of the region. He has managed to create his own party and fielded candidates in the various by elections that have happened in the country.
As much as he is associated with the deputy president William Samoei Ruto, he speaks his mind about demands of the people of the larger Mt Kenya region. If he gets a good mentor like the deputy president William Ruto or Raila Odinga, he can be the leader of the Gema nation after president Uhuru Kenyatta retires from politics. I don't know what you think but that's my take. Remember to share and comment.
