Crowd Chants to Their Area MP Instructing Him Who to Follow Between Ruto and Raila

On Sunday 26th, president William Ruto and his deputy attended an interdenominational thanksgiving service at Mpeketoni, Lamu West constituency in Lamu county. The Head of State was accompanied by various leaders across the political divide, who assured him of their support.

Lamu West MP, Stanley Muthama, who was elected under the Azimio affiliate, Jubilee party, was forced to put a question to the crowd that had gathered for the prayer service in Mpeketoni.

The lawmaker asked his constituents whether to stick on the Azimio side which is currently led by Raila Odinga or he should join hands with president William Ruto.

The crowd answered him unanimously instructing him to work with president Ruto's government. The congregation further instructed the legislator not to turn back in his course of delivering to the people of Lamu West.

"I want to ask you here in the daylight, do you want me to work with the government or stick in the opposition?" Asked the MP. (Watch video from 1hr 29min).

"So those other people should not bother us. The resolve is clear, I am going to work with government. Those who will feel bad it's their own problem," noted the MP after the people approved him to work with the Kenya Kwanza government.

The second term MP said that the problems in Lamu require somebody who will work closely with the government.
