Deputy president William Ruto had to wait for atleast 30 minutes after attendees in Makueni county took long to arrive.
The Dp arrived at 9.am , waited for several minutes as empty seats were being occupied gradually.
Ruto was to commission a church bus that he had contributed funds towards buying. He commissioned the bus around noon after students from Kathonzweni secondary school were allowed to witness the event.

Unmasked people were blocked from entering the compound by police officers who had been stationed at the church gate.
Ruto also urged leaders to promote peace and unity among kenyans. He urged politicians that the people's needs is the priority even after August 9 polls.
The Dp was accompanied to the function by former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama,Garissa Township mp Aden Duale among other leaders.
A third rally that the Dp was scheduled to adress at Kyambeke market in Kaiti constituency was cancelled with no reasons disclosed.
