President Uhuru Kenyatta is one of the world leaders whose wealth was leaked in the Pandora Papers (12 million files) which is the biggest leak in history.
President Kenyatta's mention on the documents leaked by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) over the weekend took over trending topics on social media in Kenya, with the tags PandoraPapers, Client 13173 and 3.5 Trillion.
The leaked information, which allegedly revealed the extent of the Kenyatta family wealth abroad, was also published on BBC News and The Guardian.
ICIJ report also mentioned that Kenyatta's family have 12 offshore companies that have accumulated millions of dollars. In Panama, client 13173 (Kenyatta's) went and opened a whole foundation where they donated billions of Kenyan money then nominated themselves and their children as beneficiaries of the charitable work they had done to escape paying taxes and identification.
Kenyan Law requires Uhuru Kenyatta to publish and declare all his wealth. The law also states that he is not permitted to have any foreign bank and investment accounts. The fact that Uhuru Kenyatta is client 13173 in the Pandora Papers is proof that he broke the law.
