Today marked the kick off of the Machakos county By elections as it was announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission. Although there was a low voter turnout , some citizens exercised their rights to vote by choosing the leaders they were interested in.
The main contestants for this senatorial seat was Agnes Kavindu who is the flag bearer of Kalonzo's Wiper Party and Mr Ngelengele who represents United Democratic Alliance(UDA). There were only few cases of election irregularities as compared to those by elections that had taken place earlier for example ,someone was caught trying to give out bribes during these by elections.
With the total votes counted Agnes Kavindu have got 90% of total votes counted by the electoral commission. Agnes Kavindu have got 10198 votes compared to Urbanus Ngelengele's 1018 votes with the votes counting still going on. By the end tomorrow the winner will be known.
