Hounerable Nderitu Muriithi, the campaign chair for Azimio La Umoja and former governor of Laikipia County, has acknowledged defeat. He told Irungu of the United Democratic party during his press conference today that the transition team has plans in place to ensure a seamless transfer of power in the county so that those taking over would have the time to make arrangements.
When the yellow wave was sweeping the Mount Kenya region, Muriithi stunned many people by supporting Raila Odinga, a candidate for Azimio La Umoja. Unfortunately, he was unable to withstand the blow, and is now officially out, putting Ruto in charge of what is now thought of as his bedroom. Let's wait and observe how things develop before Wafula Chebukati makes his announcement.
The statement from Muriithi said, "I have called this afternoon and extended my hearty congratulations to Joshua Irungu on his declaration as the Governor-Elect of our beautiful county of Laikipia.
