"The people of Kirinyaga are the ones who will decide who they want among our leaders. We respect every single leader and you as the people you are the ones who will decide. All these are our leaders. Ngirici and Waiguru are here and you people of Kirinyaga will decide the leader you want. We will make sure that there are free and fair, verifiable nominations," stated the Deputy President William Ruto.

The Deputy President has also assured those contestants who will lose in the nominations that they will be given a place in the UDA government if the DP will win the presidential election.
