In his first tour to the Nyanza region since taking over as Kenya's fifth Head of State, President William Ruto promised to work with Raila Odinga's allies and all other elected leaders for the greater good of all Kenyans.
The new Head of State who was addressing Homa Bay town residents after attending a church service today on October 2nd also promised to take care of his predecessor President Uhuru Kenyatta and the ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
That he will make sure that the two are well taken care of for them to take a rest for their contributions to this country.
That at the same time, he will seek partnerships with all elected leaders at various levels of leadership so that they may strategize and work for Kenyans without discrimination.
On this, he started by saying that "I want to give you my assurance the good people of Homa Bay that I am going to work with your leaders, that's the ones you have elected, so that we can develop our country together.
Competition is over and the remaining work going forward is us working for you. Are you ready to work with me? Will you allow me to work with your elected leaders?"
I'm assuring you that I will work with them so that we may plan for the development of Homa Bay and Kenya at large.
He then went ahead to say that "now that the election is over, let me hear for your fellow Kenyans that I am going to respect my predecessors.
Mimi nitaheshimu rais Uhuru Kenyatta na wale viongozi wetu ambao wametutangulia.
As they go to retire, I will partner with all other leaders to plan for the development of our country."
"Si mtaniwachia Uhuru Kenyatta na Raila Odinga niwapange vizuri kwa heshima? Ama mnasemaje?
Nitawapanga vizuri halafu mimi nifanye kazi na wale mmechagua tupeleke mambo mbele," he said.
