Kenneth Lusaka, a recently elected senator from Bungoma, has urged Kenyans to maintain their composure while they wait for the results of the presidential election on social media.
Additionally, Lusaka urged Kenyans to rebuff any provocations that would destabilize law and order. As the country waits for the IEBC to release the results of the 2022 Presidential election, he continued, "let us always encourage peace and unity."
Kenyans' responses to Lusaka's remark were assorted, as can be seen here.
Elijah Mogoi Karanja believes the statement to be controversial. Karanja continued, "Kenyans are continuing with their lives.
Mwalimu Ken questioned what calm leaders were referring to on his behalf. He saw Kenyans going about their daily lives as usual. According to him, the fight is still being waged by those with political agendas.
Overwhelmingly defeating incumbent Wycliffe Wangamati, Lusaka won the governor's race. The former Senate Speaker defeated Wycliffe Wangamati (DAP-K), who received 137,378 votes, in the Ford Kenya primary with 244,298 votes.
The governor, who served in that capacity from 2013 to 2017, stated as he got his certificate that he had come to finish what he had begun.
