Alfred Mutua Breaks Silence, States Whether He Will Vie for a Political Seat Come August

Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua recently joined Kenya Kwanza Alliance of the deputy president Dr William Ruto in preparation of the August 9th, polls.

Mutua ditched Azimio-One Kenya Alliance that has Raila Odinga as the presidential candidate.

Barely two weeks after joining DP Ruto's camp, news have been going on that the Maendeleo Chap Chap leader has declared interest in vying for Mwala parliamentary seat in the forthcoming polls.

Dr Mutua in a quick rejoinder, has quashed the news saying that he is not going to contest for any political seat come this August and that his main task is to campaign for Dr William Ruto presidential bid.

Mutua cleared the air through his Twitter account where he tweeted saying "For avoidance of doubt, I wish to clarify that at this particular time, I am not running for any elective position in the forthcoming elections. I am concentrating on campaigning for the Kenya Kwanza coalition so that Kenya can get a new system where dreams can come true."

In conclusion, this comes after it was stated that if Kenya Kwanza Alliance wins the polls and forms the next government, Dr Mutua will secure a cabinet secretary post.
