Deputy President William Ruto has arrived in Kithimani, Yatta Constituency, Machakos County as he begins his second day of his two-day tour of Machakos County. He will be in Yatta and Masinga Constituencies for SMEs empowerment programme.
DP Ruto arrived in the Ukambani County on Wednesday 1st December, and made several stopovers at different points within Machakos Town and Mwala Constituencies. He engaged and supported traders in Ikalaasa, Wamunyu, Mbiuni, Mwala and Masii Markets in Mwala Constituency, and Kiatuni, Muumandu, Kaloleni, Mutituni and Machakos Town within Machakos Town Constituency.
After landing at Kithimani in Yatta Constituency today morning, the DP, accompanied by former Kakamega senator Bonni Khalwale, was forced to endure walking on a muddy ground to reach his vehicle which was packed some distance away from where his chopper landed. This was after heavy downpour that is currently witnessed in most areas across the country.
Hundreds of supporters that had come out to welcome him also waited from a distance, watching and shouting "Hustler and Daktari" slogans as Ruto crossed the muddy walk path to the other side of the field where they were waiting.
He was then escorted by the overwhelmed supporters to his vehicle, and all the way to Kithimani Market where he addressed the crowd.
This comes barely 24 hours after the second in command braced heavy rains while addressing his supporters at one of his stopovers in Mwala Constituency.
