Deputy President Dr William Ruto is the second in power after President Uhuru Kenyatta. Dr Ruto was elected as deputy president together with the president in 2013 and 2017 general elections respectively on the Jubilee Party.
Depuy president's allies Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi , Mugirango South area member of parliament Sylvanus Osoro and former mayor of Kisii town Mr.Samwel Omwando have announced today that they will sue the government for violating their human rights by wrongful arresting and detaining them.
The three were addressing their supporters after being released by the police officers. Maangi, Osoro and Omwando were arrested yesterday when they prepared to receive the Dr Ruto who was attending the burial ceremony of the former ex minister and Kisii political Kingpin Hon. Simeon Nyachae who died on 1st February. The burial ceremony was graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Odm leader Raila Odinga.
The police officers arrested the three citing that they were planning to cause the violence that could have interfered with the descent send-off of the late Mzee Nyachae.
In conclusion, the three political leaders have vowed to sue the state to the court of law citing that the police officers arrested them because of their political stand of supporting Dr Ruto's presidential race.
