The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has this morning kicked off its mass voter registration across the country ahead of the August 2022 General Elections.

This will see more Kenyans get registered as new voters as well as those that will be looking to transfer their voting stations from one to the other have the opportunity to do so.

This morning, a popular lawyer by the name of Wahome Thuku has taken Member of Parliament for South Mugirango to task over his sentiments concerning application of bursaries in his Constituency.

The Member of Parliament is alleged to have said that parents will be required to apply for bursaries using their voters card and not their identity cards.

Here is what the lawyer said: "Ati in application for bursaries in your constituenc the consideration will be based on your voting card not ID????? Ohh please my brother...get serious. You and I know the law, unless you want to pretend otherwise. So all poor parents in your area who have no voting cards can go to hell, right?

Why can't you also announce that their children will not join public schools next year if parents don't have voters cards. Why do MPs overate themselves this much with our money?"

Here are some reactions from Kenyans concerning the matter:

Edwin Osiyel: Osoro is power drunk, the money he gets from his senior has made him berserk. His step guardian sold cows to educate another cow.

Abdinur Amin: Wheelbarrow mentality again.

Wandungu Biggie: Kwani "Voters card" bado hutumika? Last general elections only I.D was required.

Casper Ngugi: Sisi tunaongea maneno ya pandora papers hizi zingine ni sideshows.

Wanjo Wanjo: Desperation is real, they have tested power and they don't want to leave.

Kosky Sky Gilbert's: Actually, Huduma card. Or what is the purpose of that card. To show the location of your residence.
