According to Kega, just like the Luhya Community, Mt Kenya are not conducting meetings based on political reasons but on the interests of the people of Central Kenya.
In a statement via Nation on Twitter, Kanini Kega has stated that when Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi brings the entire Luhya Community together, the move is regarded as a unity but when the leaders from Mt Kenya meet, the move is seen as plan to woo all politicians into President William Ruto's camp.
"Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi brought the entire Luhya nation together and that was regarded as unity of purpose. But when leaders from the mountain meet, that is perceived with a lot of suspicion. We are not meeting for political reasons but for the best interests of the people of Mt Kenya," Kanini Kega stated.
Kega further stated that, Mt. Kenya holds meetings based on the interests of the people of Central Kenya, much like the Luhya Community does.
Kega asserts that Mt. Kenya, like the Luhya Community, conducts meetings based on the interests of the people of Central Kenya rather than on political considerations.
