Another UDA Politician Has Died After a Short Illness

A UDA politician identified as Johnston Lokato from West Pokot County has died. The politician was a Member of County Assembly at Lelan ward.

Johnston Lokato was undergoing treatment at Kapenguria County Referral Hospital in West Pokot but died after a short illness. Lokato was seeking to defend his Member of County Assembly seat through UDA ticket.

West Pokot County Assembly Speaker Catherine Mukenyang confirmed the death of Lokato as she termed the demise as untimely and unfortunate.

The death of Johnston Lokato was however a big loss for UDA party, a loss to West Pokot and also a loss to his family.

Catherine Mukenyang said Lokato was a very active and humble Member of the County Assembly.

"Johnston Lokato was pronounced dead at Kapenguria County Hospital after a short illness. He was healthy and active on the campaign trail," the county assembly speaker said while disclosing that the other MCAs will meet with the family today for deliberations.
