JUST IN; 5 Bodies Including KHRC and Haki Africa Takes IEBC to Court

News just in indicates that Kenya Human Rights Commission has now taken IEBC to Court following their indefinite postponement of the elections that were scheduled to be conducted on August 23.

According to information shared by Kenya Human Rights Commission, they have filed a petition under a Certificate of urgency against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC on their decision to to indefinitely postpone elections scheduled for August 23 for 2 Gurbenatorial positions, 4 parliamentary elections and 2 county assembly elections.

5 Bodies Including Kenya Human Rights Commission, Muhuri,Haki Africa,Crawn Trust and Inuka Kenya Ni Sisi Ltd are the petuoners in this case.

Independent Electoral And Boundaries Commission through the Chair Wafula Chebukati had announced that Kakamega County and Mombasa County will not have the Elections of their governors over what the body termed as their inability to carry out their mandate over harrasment and profiling of its officials.

ODM candidate in Mombasa Gurbenatorial race had indicated that he would challenge the move by IEBC.
