In a statement issued on Saturday 14th January 2023, The vocal lawyer Miguna Miguna revealed that they had met with the President during his visit to Nyanza. The details of their meeting included, his Excellency President William Ruto apologizing to Miguna about the pain inflicted on him by the state in 2018.
Miguna Miguna was deported to Canada by Kenyan government after swearing in Raila Odinga as People's President '. he was deported days after the former president Uhuru and Odinga did the handshake.
Talking on his Twitter account on Saturday evening, Miguna revealed that the President had apologised for the brutality caused to him by the government.
"H.E. William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander In Chief of the Defence Forces, earlier this morning APOLOGIZED to me on his behalf and on behalf of the Government for the brutality inflicted upon me by the previous regime. I accept the apology," he tweeted.
Miguna tweeted back, " I accept the apology."
During the campaigns, Miguna actively advocated for the current president saying he deserved to rule the nation.
Miguna returned to Kenya on October 20th Mashujaa day early in the morning to attend the celebrations before joining other leaders for luncheon at Storehouse.
