Opinion: Five Deputy Governors who have the potential of taking over from their county bosses

As we approach the 2022 general elections, politicians have already started to plan on how they will either maintain their positions or rise to new positions. Normally, there are six elective posts in every general elections. These posts include; the Presidential post, Gubernatorial post, Senatorial post, post of the Women Representative, Member of Parliament and Member of County Assembly.

The presidential seat is the top most position in the country and people like Raila Odinga, William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi, Jimmy Wanjiki and National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi have already declared their interests in the seat. The gubernatorial seat is the second top most position in the country and many politicians and businesspeople have already declared their interests in the seat. In addition to that, the seat has also attracted the attention of deputy county governors who have been working closely with their county bosses.

The five Deputy Governors who have already declared their interests in the seat and have the potential of taking over from their county bosses include; Prof. Philip Kutima of Kakamega county, Adeline Ndeto Mwaura of Makueni county, Dr. William Kingi of Mombasa county, Dr. Patrick Saisi of Vihiga county and Gideon Saburi of Kilifi county.
