There are twelve counties whose governors are likely to be summoned by the he Senate and other investigation agencies on regards to how they spent the covid money. According to the auditor general Nancy Gathungu's report, the 7.7B which was allocated to the counties to deal with the covid 19 emergency, a good portion of it was not properly appropriated.
Some counties are showing mischief in the auditor general's report where they spent money without a proper budgets and work plans. The 7B was a section of the 255B which the government had borrowed specifically for the pandemic which has ravaged our country to date.
The senate has started summoning some governors to before the house committees dealing with relevant issues where some governors have already appeared through virtual technology like those of the counties of Kisii, Kisumu, Kajiado, Kitui, Murang'a, Wajir and Vihiga.
The next in line are the Governors from the counties of Machakos and Turkana. At least all the counties have some issues to explain to the Senate committees where some of them are allegedly allocated contracts which they later cancelled. These includes the counties of Kakamega, Homa Bay, Embu, Murang'a, Isiolo and Meru.
