For a couple of days now, there have been celebrations and Jubilation in the BBI camp. The team which is lead by President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been having a good period of time ever since Siaya County became the first County to approve the BBI. Although they were scared by Baringo County Assembly's decision to shoot down the Bill, things became sweet again and super Tuesday summed up everything. They were also relieved when Kivutha Kibwana crossed over to their camp.
All the BBI celebrations have now been cut short after a serious allegation coming up from President Uhuru Kenyatta's backyard. That is after Dennis Itumbi alleging that the people of Karatina in Nyeri County which is in Mt. Kenya region chased away PSs who had gone there to sell the BBI. As alleged by Itumbi, the people do not want the BBI but it is forced on them.
"Karatina residents in Nyeri County chase away PSs who had come to sell BBI.
1. BBI is NOT a priority for #HustlerNation please stop using force na kifua
2. Dear Hustlers, give everyone a chance to speak. Listen or ignore. Do NOT Heckle." Posted Dennis Itumbi.Considering that the BBI may soon be going to the people for a referendum, then President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga and other BBI proponents must stop celebrating this minor victory and focus on ensuring that they have popularised the document to all the people.
