Lussu who is exiled in Belgium wants President Samia to name people who wanted to assassinate him by shooting at his car, which left him with at least 16 bullets lodged on his body.
He also wants those who sent the assassins to be named and be charged in a court of law.
He also wants Samia to restore lost democracy in the Swahili-speaking nation
Tundu Lissu gave the above demands after some unknown people started spreading untrue news, saying he cannot put President Samia's government on toes as Opposition Leader because she stood with him while he was sick.
Someone had created a fake tweet and posted a picture of Lissu in the hospital when he had been visited by President Samia while she was a Vice President.
"Badala ya kutunga uongo wa kijinga kama huu, mshaurini Rais Samia na Serikali yake awataje waliojaribu kuniua; waliowatuma na kuwawezesha na awachukulie hatua stahiki za kisheria. Mshaurini alipe haki zangu zote zilizozuiliwa kiharamia na mwendazake na arudishe demokrasia nchini," he tweeted, which loosely translates to
(Instead of fabricating such a lie, advise President Samia and her Government to name those who tried to kill me; who sent and empowered them, and take appropriate legal action against them. Tell her to pay for all my rights that were infringed by her predecessor, and let her restore democracy in the country\)
