Reasons Why Kalonzo Will Not Join Raila Odinga Or DP Ruto, Kalonzo's Ally Says

Monday, November 29, 2021 - Deputy leader of the Wiper Democratic Movement party, Farah Maalim, said his boss, Kalonzo Musyoka, would not join former Prime Minister Raila Odinga or Vice President William Ruto before the 2022 presidential election .

Raila and Ruto are the first two in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, who will retire in August next year.

In an interview with one of the local TV stations on Monday, Maalim, who is a former MP for Lagdera, said the reason Kalonzo would not be joining Ruto or Raila is because the second position in Raila's programming, the Running mate's post has been reserved for a leader from the Mount Kenya region, and so none of the OKA bosses want to settle for less than that.

“OKA will stay in OKA because if Mudavadi were to join the UDA, what position will get, like Kalonzo if he joins Raila, he will be satisfied with the president of the National Assembly, unconsciously not.

"No one would let their best chances of being 'key boys' for Ruto or Raila," posed Maalim.

He added that the Wiper Party, Ford Kenya and the ANC had long supported Raila and it was time to forge their own political paths.

The former vice president further stated that Kalonzo and Mudavadi are the favorites of the OKA group and each of them can make a good standard bearer and president that all Kenyans wished they had.
