Cases of police brutality have been on the rise in Kenya.This was witnessed especially after the night curfew and movement restrictions were effected earlier in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has wrecked havoc worldwide.
Some police offiers have previously overstepped the boundaries by using excessive force when dealing with ordinary Kenyans who were found outside past the curfew hours.
He said that police in Ruguru ward, Mathira allegedly opened fire on a young man who was daring them to stop harrassing his father.This happened when violent cops descended on the town before the curfew hours and ordered people to close down their busineses.The young man was rushed to Karatina district hospital.
The vocal UDA legislator condemned whatever happened and called for immediate action from the relevant authorities.
