The race to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming general elections is getting hotter each day with all interested parties striving to equip their camps with strong members who will form a strong force in winning the elections. This has led to emergency of massive party defections with politicians trying to find a safe haven to enable them get tickets that will enable them retain their seats and offer the needed support to their preferred presidential candidates.
After formation of United Democratic party by William Ruto as a parallel party which he will use to run for the presidency, many Jubilee Party loyalists of William Ruto followed him and have since then abandoned Jubilee. However, the remaining members have been working with Uhuru's government and Raila Odinga after the popular handshake at Harambee House. According to the information shared on the ODM Party official page, Jubilee party directors paid a visit to Chungwa House Today. They were led by the regional director for Kiambu Joseph Maathai and visited the headquarters where they exchanged ideas with the party secretary general Edwin Sifuna. The ODM party revealed that this is a continuation of talks in building a strong partnership between the two parties.
Many Kenyans are now anticipating a union between the two parties in the upcoming general elections after Ruto felt sidelined and formed his own party.
