The presidential contest is getting hotter as it continues to heat up between the two main political parties, Kenya Kwanza and Azimio. President Uhuru Kenyatta's opponents, William Ruto, the Second in Command, and Raila Odinga, are keen to unseat him as the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is close to announcing its final decision on who would serve as the nation's fifth president.
With the ongoing provisional results for the presidential race, DP Ruto and Raila Odinga are battling for the top seat.
And now, former Kieni Member of Parliament Hon Kanini Kega has alleged that Deputy President William Ruto lied to the voters of the Mount Kenya region who according to the provisional results got majority votes compared to Raila Odinga.
"William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua you lied to our people and now they will be in the opposition for the next 5 years!" Hon Kanini Kega wrote on his Facebook page.Hon Kega loses his seat to UDA candidate Hon Chieni Njoroge. He conceded defeat yesterday and thank the people of Kieni for the chance they had given him to serve them for the past ten years.
