Today marked the first anniversary since the passing on of the Kenya's longest serving and the republic's second president Daniel Arap Moi. President Uhuru, Kalonzo Musyoka and Mudavadi were amongst the VIPs who graced the event.
However, the fierce Political competition in the Rift valley region between the Baringo senator Gedion Moi and the 'hustler' deputy president Dr William Ruto dominated the larger part of the day. In other words Ruto's presence was felt even in his absence.
Even though the deputy president wasn't in the anniversary, his name was mentioned by almost all the politicians in the event amongst them the Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka . Lately Kalonzo and Ruto have had bitter exchange of words each accusing the other of impunity.
Kalonzo told the Deputy President Ruto to show respect to the late president Moi for he made him the person he is today. And by this Kalonzo has rubbed shoulders with Ruto's supporters the wrong way.
"Respect Moi, he made you" Kalonzo tells Ruto. His sentiments has angered Ruto's supporters and see how they reacted.
