Deputy Prime Minister William Ruto took the opportunity to issue a warning to members of the police force while he was addressing his supporters in Nandi. He urged the officers not to follow any instructions that could lead to the instability of the nation.
According to DP Ruto, his opponents are well aware of the fact that they do not stand a chance of winning, which is why they may be inclined to exploit police officers as a result of this knowledge.
In addition, DP Ruto has insisted that all Kenyans desire for there to be calm throughout the election. He then went on to urge all of the police personnel in their nation to contribute positively to their country.
"Please do your part as members of the community who will ensure that there is peace in our nation, Nauliza the whole police force; you are Kenyans and you are citizens of this country. We want a peaceful election and country, and we are asking every police officer to refuse instructions that will bring conflict into this country. Because of this, we are asking for a peaceful election and country "remarked the DP Ruto.
