The battle to succeed the incumbent president Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta who is serving his second term and the final term in office attracted four candidates and it was further narrowed to a two horse race that's the deputy president and Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate Dr. William Ruto with the former prime minister and Azimio coalition presidential candidate Hon. Raila Odinga.
With the competition between Dr. Ruto and Mr Odinga both representing Kenya Kwanza and Azimio coalition respectively various bodies conducted an opinion to check who could carry the day based on the popularity of the candidates. Both Mr Odinga and Dr. Ruto are neither new nor strange in the country's politics the only difference is Mr. Odinga was making his fifth attempt while Dr. Ruto was making his first attempt which seemed to be like experiencing or tasting the race but successfully won the seat.
The latest survey conducted on second of August, by Mizani Africa revealed that Dr William Ruto commands the lead with 50.6 percent followed by Mr. Odinga who had 45.3 percent.
