While visiting the city of Likoni on Tuesday, Deputy President William Samoei Ruto addressed concerns regarding the transparency of voting procedures. He assured his supporters that the Independent Electoral Commission would not be controlled in any manner by a small handful of individuals.
He said that he is a supporter of democracy and that he is prepared to accept defeat if legitimate and transparent elections are conducted. He said that his objective is to improve the country's status and that he would not remain mute about it regardless of whether he is a part of the government at the moment.
However, he added that his triumph is a foregone conclusion and that it is just a matter of time until Kenyans begin to enjoy the advantages of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance administration, which would put residents' interests before politicians' interests. He went on to say that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance administration would prioritize people's interests before politicians'. He continued by saying that the country would be better off without former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga in politics since he lacks positive ideas for the country.
