ODM party is one of the oldest and vibrant political parties in Kenya. The party enjoys massive support from various parts of the country. The party is currently led by former prime minister Raila Odinga. Various candidates have shown interest in vying for presidency using the party ticket.
One of the leaders is renowned businessman Jimmy Wanjingi. Mr. Jimmy Wanjingi is a life member of ODM party. He has publicly declared his presidential bid. The businessman visited ODM offices last week to officially announce his candidature for ODM party's presidential ticket. He will be competing with the current party leader Raila Odinga.
Today Mr. Raila Odinga received a major blow after ODM leaders from Narok county endorsed Jimmy Wanjingi for presidency. This endorsement comes a day after Jimmy Wanjingi urged old politicians to retire and allow a new fresh brand of leaders to lead the country.
The leaders said that Jimmy Wanjingi is a visionary and development oriented leader who can steer Kenya to a great economic prosperity. The leaders said that Jimmy Wanjingi as a good agenda for the country. They promised to support his presidential bid.
The ODM leaders were drawn from Bodaboda sector, youth departments and business community in Narok county. They further said that Jimmy Wanjingi long experience in business can raise the country's economy.
