KANU Secretary General Nick Salat Begs WILLIAM RUTTO to accept him back, dumps GIDEON MOI

Kenya African National Union [KANU] Secretary general Nick Salat ditches AZIMIO coalition and joined Kenya Kwanza today at Bomet Green Stadium where the president, His excellency Hon. William Samoei Rutto was there to open the government projects. This followed after Gideon Moi, the party leader, suspended Nick Salat with claims of misconduct and violation of the party constitution but Nick Salat urged that it was because of the KANU meeting which was held in Nakuru where he challenged the leadership structure to resign following the poor perfomance of the party in the previous election in August 2022.

Nick Salat in his speech said, "I know you [William Rutto] will be the president for 10 years. I saw the great reception that you were accorded in Nyanza and I cannot be left behind. Wherever you are, I will be. I have suffered too long, please accept me back."

He also added that Azimio should realize that it will not survive until 2027. It may actually take a new formation. Remember, this time there will be no Uhuru to bring Kalonzo Musyoka on board. He also added that, "I don't think our future is in Azimio. I played a big role in KANU joining Azimio, there was resistance from some members but I assured them that our biggest chance was in Azimio but things have changed." he said. Further, he said that KANU must resurrect but it will not come back through Azimio or through Kenya Kwanza but it will definitely resurrect and come back again strong like it has never been before.

The deputy president welcomed him and praised him uttering that he was a good leader as he knows him back from the days they were in KANU together. Gachagua said, "Salat has been chased away like a dog and misused for over 15 years, he is welcomed to work with us, we have enough room to accommodate him."
