The President of Kenya,Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader, Raila Odinga are both set for a maiden Mombasa-Kisumu train ride in April. The news has been shared by the Chief Adminstrative Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Peter Odoyo wo reinstated that the the two will share the first symbolic trip.

Pres. Uhuru and Raila have been close friends ever since the two agreed to work together in the form of "Handshake". The two have been rumoured to be planning to form a strong political coalition in readiness for 2022 presidential elections.
The Nakuru-Kisumu meter railway gauge is currently under refurbishment under is expected to be complete by April. The railway line is expected to boost the economy of Western Kenya.
It's revival will help various Counties which are currently establishing economic blocks to easily transport their goods thereby boosting their industries and agriculture in the region.
