Independent Electrol and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) today at around 00:00 hrs, May 19, released a press concerning yesterday's by-election which was held in Juja constituency, Kiambu county that saw a stiff competition between Jubilee party's canditate and People's Empowerment Party (PEP) canditate.
Taking to their Twitter account, IEBC disclosed that they were forced to cut off the counting process by a group of individuals led by Kiambu governor Mr. James Nyoro.
"At around 10:20pm there was distribution of the tallying process at Mang'u High school Tallying center in Juja constituency by a group of individuals led by Kiambu county Governor Mr James Nyoro," said IEBC.
"In order to ensure the safety of our staff, the election materials and to preserve the integrity of the election process, the Commission hereby suspends the tallying process and announcement of the results until normalcy is fully restored," says IEBC through a press release letter.
TangaTanga Allies led by Ndindi Nyoro, Murang'a senator Irungu Kang'ata, Hon Kipchumba and Dennis Itumbi alleged that it was a plan for rigging but assured supporters that they already have form 34As and it will be hard for anyone to steal votes.
