Deputy President William Ruto and his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party have made mores strides in penetrating Wetsern Kenya by welcoming more leaders from the region, who have officially defected to UDA.

Ruto welcomed the following Members of County Assembly from Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties; Bethwel Mwambu of Mbakalo ward (Jubilee party) and Simiyu Wamusai of Saboti Ward (Ford Kenya party). The MCAs defected alongside other leaders from their respective areas.

While receiving the defectors at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi, the Deputy President was accompanied by Sirisia Member of Parliament, Hon John Waluke, Hon Fred Kapondi (Mt Elgon), Hon Mwambu Mabonga (Bumula) and Bungoma Deputy Governor Professor Charles Ngome.

November and December have seen quite some political party hopping from politicians, with the UDA party looking like a major beneficiary.
This comes after the DP's several political rallies across the country, through which he is spreading the message of his Bottom Up economic model and welcoming like-minded politicians onboard.
