Homosexuality in Kenya is illegal in Kenya according to Penal Code 1930 which criminalizes it. The law was inherited from the British Colonial and has never been amended even after independence. The outlaw is regarding gross indecency and carnal awareness against the order of nature.

Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has left Kenyans marveling after raising about President William Ruto not appointing anyone from the LGBTQ community. In comparison, the lawyer said that the former Uhuru Kenyatta had five Cabinet Secretaries and twelve senior staff from the LGBTQ.

The flamboyant lawyer revelation has sparked a highly heated debate from Kenyans on social media. Most Kenyans have criticized the lawyer on why he sounds like he's fighting for same-sex.

During an interview with CNN, the current head of state emphasized that there will be no room for homosexuality. Explaining himself, he said Kenya has traditions, customs, and a constitution that prevents such things from being accommodated. He underscored that the customs and traditions of Kenyans would continue to be respected with violation of any.
