Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya with Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi.
A lot of questions arose after a recent meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and three coastal leaders. According to reports, the president met Hon Ali Hassan Joho(Mombasa), Salim Mvurya (Kwale) and Amason Kingi (Kilifi) to discuss on matters affecting the Coastal region.
According to Tangatanga politicians however, the president had a hidden agenda aimed at weakening the ODM party leaders influence in the region. Led by Tangatanga blogger Dennis Itumbi and the Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot, the latter claimed that Uhuru was hugely supporting the formation of a coastal political party, something that will weaken ODM's dominance in coast.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi.
The Kapseret member of parliament Hon Oscar Sudi took a statement to his twitter account linking this meeting to a well composed strategy to fight the deputy president Dr William Ruto. According to Sudi, the president has now resolved to tribal parties and blocks in order to weaken Ruto who has been calling for a tribeless kind of politicking, courtesy of his hustler movement.
"These are Uhuru's dirty political tricks. He wants to empower tribal chiefs by building village parties for them. This is pure divide and rule theory at play. He's unhappy that #HustlerMovement has changed the conversation to a tribeless one. Wakenya sio wajinga." the Kapseret MP stated.
