As 2022 general elections draws near, the two presidential heavyweights are yet to unveil their potential running mates. In a poll research that was done by star Newspaper, Peter Kenneth and Rigathi Gachagua emerged top of the list.

On Odinga's side, Kenneth had a whopping 27 percent against Mudavadi and Kalonzo who both had 13 and 12 percent respectively. On Dp Ruto's side many Kenyans felt Gachagua is the right man for the job beating Karua in the research polls.

Political analysts claim that the presidential candidates, that is Ruto and Odinga have a heavy task ahead in picking a candidate who will satisfy their political ambitions. Both candidates will have to pick a running mate who will bring in enough votes to secure them wins.
On Ruto's side Gachagua is likely to be picked since Karua said earlier that she is not ready for national politics but would rather concentrate on securing Kirinyaga top seat. That therefore leaves Gachagua at vantage position.
