Ruto's running mate names those who will be dragged to court after the August election

Deputy President William Ruto has had well-publicized disagreements with his employer, President Uhuru Kenyatta, throughout their second term, with Ruto even alleging that his commander had set up intel agencies over him.

But now, Ruto's campaign partner, Rigathi Gachagua, has publicly stated that probing authorities like the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have been utilized to unlawfully harass enterprises and lay off numbers of Kenyans.

As a result, he claims that if Ruto's administration wins the August general elections, he would immediately take DCI leader George Kinoti to court. Gachagua indicated that Kinoti will face charges for misusing his position and utilizing it for political purposes.

"We (the Kenya Kwanza government) will file criminal charges against the security personnel who were duped into playing politics with their positions, beginning with Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) head George Kinoti," he stated.

His thoughts are hardly surprising given earlier remarks by Deputy President William Ruto, who has often accused the DCI director of being used to conduct political errands.
