Joachim Oketch famously known as Swagga is the current serving ward representative for the Kondele ward. Anybody familiar with Kisumu Town politics must have not missed his name in the past during the heated political campaigns. Swagga is the Kisumu county assembly deputy speaker and is recognized as the most vocal MCA in Kenya. During the aftermath of the 2017 general elections, there were reports of his arrests by CIDs after allegedly being accused of mobilizing his followers to demonstrate against the 2017 presidential election results.
When Raila Odinga visited Kisumu last week, Swagga's speech went viral online after he expressed his anger at how Tangatanga supporters decided to treat Raila Odinga in their strongholds. Oscar Sudi was one of the politicians who did not take his pronouncements lightly and immediately called a press conference to tell off the Kondele ward MCA. Kondele ward is located in Kisumu Central constituency and is mainly dominated by youths.
