Starehe Constituency deputy returning nabbed over disappearance of three ballot boxes

Starehe Constituency deputy returning officer has been nabbed over dissapearance of three ballot boxes.

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition allies Edwin Sifuna, Philip Kaloki, Reuben Ndolo, Maina Kamanda, Racheal Shebesh together with Jubilee Starehe parliamentary candidate Amos Mwago raided the Starehe Constituency tallying station at Jamhuri High School on Thursday evening and requested that the election results be read out.

The Azimio leaders linked the dissapearance of the ballot boxes to rigging.

While talking to their supporters at the Jamhuri High School, the Azimio bigwigs asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officers at the tallying station to be put to come clean and narrate how the ballot boxes went missing.

Agents and followers of different candidates, who said that there was plot to rig elections in favour of some candidates, also complained that the tallying exercise was slow.

They requested the immediate announcement of election results.

Mr Sifuna said that the results for the parliamentary and Members of the County Assembly be announced by todat morning.

He also pleaded with the IEBC officials to fasten the exercise and read the constituency results for president, senate and woman representative without failure.
