Updates: Thousands of Kenyans Flock DP Ruto's Rural Home on Tuesday Morning (Photos)

On Tuesday morning, thousands of villagers from deputy president William Ruto's ancestral home of Sugoi flocked his rural home.

This is just a day after His Excellency the Deputy President William Ruto was declared the President elect by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairperson Wafula Chebukati.

Several villagers and leaders from the village which is in Uasin Gishu county noted that they came to celebrate the victory that their son got in the just concluded presidential elections.

This comes at a time when the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairperson Wafula Chebukati has officially gazetted the DP as the duly elected president.

The Deputy President William Ruto has been gazetted together with his running mate Rigathi Gachagua as the winners of the 2022 presidential election whose results were officially declared on Monday evening.

The Commision chairman Wafula Chebukati through a gazette notice of Tuesday said the two were duly elected as President and Deputy President having fulfilled the threshold set under Article 138 (4) of the Constitution which requires that a candidate gets more than half the number of votes cast countrywide and at least 25 per cent of the vote in “each of more than half the counties.”
