The four commissioners from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission who didn't agree with the presidential results that Wafula Chebukati put out have said why they didn't.
In a statement at the Serena Hotel on Tuesday, August 16, IEBC vice-chairperson Juliana Cherera said that adding up the percentages each presidential candidate got was mathematically impossible.
At the press conference, they said that the total percentage was more than 100%, and that the extra 0.01%, which equals 142,000 votes, changed the final presidential results.
"Adding up the percentages of votes each of the four presidential candidates got, as Chebukati told us and showed us, is a mathematical joke," the head of the IEBC said.
