"The Ground is UDA" Anne Waiguru States The Main Reason Why Mt Kenya Youths Are Solidly Behind Ruto

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has revealed that Mount Kenya Region is singing Deputy President William Ruto's UDA, a revelation that goes hand in hand with a recent opinion poll done by Radio Africa Group.

The poll showed Ruto leading with 57.1 per cent with his close contender Raila Odinga getting 11 per cent and Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader Alfred Mutua closing top three with 3.8 per cent.

In her Exclusive interview with The Nation, Waiguru stated that gone are tribal politics and Kenyans are embracing a leader who has their needs at heart, adding that 'Nobody is bothered' with Mt Kenya presidential aspirants Jimmy Wanjigi, Mutahi Kagwe among others.

On why Ruto is very popular across the region more so from youths, Waiguru reveals that his time to reconnect and engage them in the last four years has earned their trust and are not afraid to say it.

They argue that when the other presidential candidates were drumming support for the handshake and the BBI, Ruto was with them, they connected and stood for the truth.

They also hold the view that if it was not for Ruto's factor in 2013 and 2017, their son Uhuru Kenyatta would not have won the presidency.
