After the local representative for the area was forced to cut his speech short due to the disorder, there was a pall of confusion that settled over Rift Valley. This event is taking place in the Cherengany Constituency, and the local MP Joshua Kutuny was invited to attend the social gathering. As was to be expected, there was a large turnout by the citizens of the region to hear their local MP, who will be running for reelection in the general elections scheduled for 2022.
However, at one point in time, a group of unruly young people surrounded Joshua Kutuny and demanded money from him. Since of this, the event had to be canceled because the residents of the region demanded money in an increasingly disorderly manner. It is not yet apparent whether or not this Member of Parliament for the Jubilee Party met the demands of the young people who threatened to chase him away.
It is interesting to note that Kutuny has a large following in North Rift despite the fact that he is one of the leaders in Rift Valley who oppose William Ruto's bid for the presidency. This is something that should be taken into consideration.
